For several months now, Cremo has been engaged in a profound at Cremo. Today is an opportunity to share with you the progress of this transformation and the concrete actions implemented implemented around three main axes :
Modernizing production facilities and productivity: investing for the future
Our industrial facilities are ageing and subject to frequent breakdowns, affecting our ability to produce and deliver on time to our customers. Improving our efficiency is one of the key levers of our turnaround.
This is why we are investing in the modernization of our infrastructure to optimize our production flows, guarantee consistent product quality, and reduce our operating costs. These developments are essential to strengthen our competitiveness and meet market demands, while maintaining high standards in dairy processing.
Optimizing the product portfolio: strategic choices for a sustainable future
The dairy market is evolving, leading to changes in consumer habits. To remain competitive, we need to adapt our product range and focus our efforts on the most promising segments.
With this in mind, we have decided to cease production of Emmentaler at the end of 2024. The significant decline in sales, both in Switzerland and internationally, combined with high production, refining and marketing costs, meant that this product was chronically unprofitable for Cremo.
This strategic choice enables us to redirect our resources towards higher value-added products, better aligned with consumer expectations and market trends. By positioning ourselves in more buoyant segments, we strengthen our competitiveness while guaranteeing optimum value for the milk of our partner producers.
Corporate culture and team commitment: driving transformation
A successful transformation such as the one initiated at Cremo would not be possible without the total involvement of our teams. For several months now, we have been instilling a new internal dynamic, with a strong emphasis on performance, innovation and collaboration.
For example, weekly meetings between all departments enable us to keep a close eye on the company's main indicators (production, financial, etc.), so as to be more responsive to day-to-day challenges. We know that this transformation is ambitious, but it is necessary if we are to adapt to the new realities of the market.
